WHO WE ARE

Asphaltos Bolivia is a producer of asphalt products with international roots registered in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

Since its establishment in 2011, the Company is a major supplier of asphalt products for the road construction and rehabilitation sector of Bolivia. Asphaltos Bolivia’s management combines local and international asphalt market and industrial experience with advanced asphalt modification technology expertise.

In 2015 Asphaltos Bolivia made a significant investment and built a state-of-the-art asphalt modification and emulsions plant and on-site quality control laboratory operating in compliance to Bolivian, US, Brazilian and European standard norms. This is the first such independent operation in Bolivia. At the facility we are formulating and producing a comprehensive range of products used in the road construction and re-habilitation sector in line with the latest Bolivian, European, US, Brazilian and Bolivian Specifications. The company’s management and plant technicians have significant experience operating such plants in Europe and the Middle East.

The Plant has enabled Asphaltos Bolivia to better serve the Bolivian road construction industry with superior quality products, more efficient service, and faster delivery response times. This is in addition to on-site technical support to its customers with full understanding of site conditions, demands and constraints.

TECHNOLOGY

Asphaltos Bolivia aims to be at the forefront of asphalt technology and its applications.

Using the company’s vast technological expertise and the worldwide experience of its partners, Asphaltos Bolivia aims to introduce and apply the latest internationally developed and tested asphalt technologies in order to create significant long term cost savings and increase pavement road service life spans.

These technologies include:

Polymer Modified Asphalt binders – Providing higher stability, longevity of the traffic wearing course and increased load bearing capabilities (lower layers) to the asphalt pavement. Reduction in the overall asphalt pavement thickness with increased load bearing capability thereby further reducing projects costs.

Environmentally friendly Prime and Tack Coat systems minimizing environmental impact.

PRODUCTION PLANT

As part of its strategic commitment to Bolivia, and using our management’s vast experience operating similar facilities in Europe and the Middle East, Asphaltos Bolivia has invested in a bespoke purpose designed Polymer Modified Asphalt plant capable of producing PMA, asphalt emulsion and cut-back in Warnes. Both plants are fully automatic using the SCADA computerized systems in order to eliminate operator error potentials. Additionally, the plant has its own dedicated tank farm designed to handle and store the specific needs of each system, ensuring strict performance compliance. The Plant has an automatic direct loading, unloading and drumming capability. Key plant personel have been transferred to the Bolivian operations as part of the Asphaltos Bolivia commitment.

The plant is situated on a 2 hectare industrial site with full permits and environmental operational licences in place and include 1000 m2 raw material warehousing complex.

QUALITY CONTROL, RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT LABORATORY

Core to our strategy is the continuous endeavor to produce high quality products which meet and exceed our customers’ stringent requirements, in addition to full compliance to the relevant standard specifications. As part of this Asphaltos Bolivia follow a carefully designed quality assurance program. A fundamental element of this is the modern asphalt testing laboratory we operate at our production plant in Warnes, near Santa Cruz.
